Do you know what is in the food you eat every day?

Most of us cannot say. We are busy, so we eat out. The food arrives hot and smells good, and we do not ask.

Problem 1

Is it fresh?

In many places, food cooked earlier is frozen or heated again and served. From the table, you cannot tell.

Problem 2

Refined oil.

Much of the food we eat is cooked in refined oil. It is cheap, and it is hard to notice.

Problem 3

Maida.

Naan, rotis, buns, pizza base, sandwich bread: most are made of maida, which is refined white flour. The whole grain is taken out.

Problem 4

Taste boosters and colour.

MSG, artificial colours and ready-made masala packets make food taste and look stronger than it is.

Problem 5

No one tells you.

A menu shows the dish name. A delivery app shows a photo. Neither tells you the oil, the flour or how old the food is.

Every day, not once

Once in a while, it does not matter.

But most of us eat like this every day, and so does our family. So we asked one question: what if the kitchen told you everything?

Our answer

So we built a kitchen that tells you everything.

Every day we

  • Cook the thali fresh, that same morning.
  • Never serve anything cooked yesterday.
  • Use only whole wheat bread.
  • Buy our flour, pulses, rice and spices from organic suppliers.
  • Buy paneer and dairy only from Amul, Verka and Ananda.
  • Change the thali for 25 days, so you never get bored.

We never use

  • 0dishes served from yesterday
  • ₹250for a full thali, cooked this morning

Why Nitya Ahaar

We built the kitchen we wanted to eat from.

We have cooked for people for six years. We know how easy it is to take a shortcut. A cheaper oil. A packet masala. Yesterday’s dal. No one sees it.

We did not want to run a kitchen like that. So at Nitya Ahaar, we cook fresh every morning, we keep the food simple, and we tell you exactly what goes in.

A family sharing a home-style meal around the table

Made for anyone who wants food they can trust.

Office-goers

A proper lunch that is ready on time and is not the same every day.

Families

Food you can serve your children without worrying about what is in it.

Parents and elders

Simple, home-style food, cooked fresh and served warm.

Fitness-minded people

Clean food, and a full menu you can see in advance.

Students and people away from home

A taste of home every day, at a fair price: a full thali for ₹250.

A different plate every day.

The thali follows a 25-day rotation, with a different dal, sabji and salad every day, and a paneer special on two days each week. Choose a day to see its plate.

Our staples, such as flours, pulses, rice and spices, come from organic suppliers, and paneer and dairy come only from Amul, Verka and Ananda. Our vegetables are bought fresh every few days and depend on what is available, so we do not guarantee that they are organic. If an ingredient is not organic on a given day, we tell you.
